-In a daze..-

It is Friday and how unbelievable I've been sitting at my work station this whole morning...Chatting online, blogging, checking mail. How amazing is that?

Well, the whole school's in a post exam mood and no one's in the mood for lessons! Alas I need to continue with my Sec 3 Express lessons and to say the truth I'll miss my classes next year as I won't be following up.

Isn't it so interesting to see them growing frm bright-eyed eager Sec 1 kids to the now mature and less motivated Sec 3 seniors of the school? Was telling one of my students: you are all growing up but I'm growing old! Haha..

On the bright side I'll be teaching the lower sec students next year. Still remember my current Sec 3 students asking a few years back: Cher, how come must write poems in geography lessons? They never cease to be amazed at the seemingly irrelevance of tasks assigned to them in my lessons. Haha..then again my creative juices seem to flow more in my geography rather than english lessons.

Hols are beckoning and finally Ms Tan has made her decision. Come December I'll be heading off to Shanghai. Rather excited as all my memories of my Sec 4 Chinese lessons come flooding my mind. Especially glad that I'll be going to Hanshan Shi-Ye Luo Wu Ti Shuang Man Tian, Gu Su Cheng Wai Han Shan Shi. Hee, forgot the remaining lines. Must really read up on Chinese literature before I set off. One of my closer friend commented: wow you are really fulfilling your destiny as a shopaholic! You'll be heading off to New York next.. But nah, hey I have my cultural side too. I'm just as home sitting with a few friends having coffee and reading a book. Or being the gracious hostess whipping up a scrumptious meal..but nah, nearly died the last time I cooked dinner for 10 of my usher friends. ;p

Everyone never ceases to be amazed at why an English language teacher reads Chinese books but honestly I think I'm quite billingual. Have oft wondered why I ended up teaching English and Geography. To a certain extent, wish I could have taught either Chinese or Home Economics. Then again, the only sewing I can do are knitting and cross stitch. Ask me to sew a bag? You can forget it..haha..
